World Labs’ Frameboy lets you steer through a scene

A browser preview streams new views as you move a camera. You can explore scenes the company picked.

What changed

World Labs announced Frameboy on November 5. It uses a version of Atlas, an AI model that generates views of a scene from different camera angles. The company says its servers stream up to 15 frames per second to your browser as you steer. The demo is a research preview, and that figure describes the company's stated upper limit. [1]

What the demo lets you explore

You might move around a corner in a sample room to see how a different angle changes the view. Frameboy has a set of scenes chosen by World Labs. The company says people with Viewfinder beta access can build their own scenes and explore them through the same streaming feature. [1] [2]

Our take

Treat it like a sketch for planning a shot. Pick something easy to recognize, such as a chair beside a window, and look at it from two angles. Atlas generates details that were outside the original image. That can give you ideas for a shot, while a decision about dimensions needs an actual measurement. [3]
