What NVIDIA says is available
NVIDIA's October 17 announcement says RTX Spark laptops are available, starting at $2,399. The platform offers up to 128 GB of unified memory; that does not establish the memory included at the starting price. Its October 16 developer article says compact desktops are coming in November. We have not checked individual retailer stock or tested the hardware.
Check the software and the route
The Windows platform uses Arm. NVIDIA's porting guidance calls for reviewing dependencies, choosing an Arm64 or Arm64EC approach, and testing installation, performance, and CUDA paths. Its listed PyTorch installation uses prerelease packages from a nightly index, so the expanded tool list does not mean every dependency is ready for every project.
The developer article describes local agents alongside hybrid routers that can send prompts to a cloud model. Installing a local model does not establish where every prompt or tool operation goes. Check the chosen agent's routing, permissions, and service requirements.
Our take
Editorial analysis: start with the work you want to do, then check the editor, packages, model, and agent it requires. Try a harmless sample project and trace what stays on the machine and what reaches a service. A large memory figure is useful information, but a workflow that fits your needs is the better buying criterion.
Source timing
This briefing combines NVIDIA's October 16 technical article with its October 17 retail follow-up. The latter's published metadata is October 17 at 4:00 p.m. Central. We checked the sources October 18; this is newly added coverage of those announcements.
