What Google announced
Google announced the public launch of Deep Review, an AI system for examining complex documents and suggesting corrections. The October 14 announcement describes worldwide access, two complimentary document reviews per week, and initial support for PDFs and plain text. Multi-file input is planned.
Google says uploaded documents are kept for one year to display in the service and are not used to train its models. Higher usage involves connecting a Gemini API key and may incur charges. We have not submitted documents or tested the service.
Our take for AI geeks
Editorial analysis: try a technical report you can share publicly, then check each proposed correction against the original evidence. Keep confidential or personal material out of this experiment. A detailed critique can still contain mistakes; it is a list of questions to investigate, not an approval stamp.
