What changed
GitHub Copilot can review a pull request, a proposal to change a project's code. GitHub's November 5 update adds counts for how many Copilot review comments GitHub checked for follow-up and how many developers acted on. The reports group results by categories such as severity or comment type. Teams can retrieve them through an API, which lets their software request the report. [1] [2]
What the numbers count
Comments count on the day the pull request merges. Applying a suggested edit, making a change by hand, or replying that a fix will come later can all count as addressing a comment. The report also counts Copilot-reviewed changes that merged without a later human request for changes. [1]
Our take
Use the rate to find examples to review. If the report shows action on eight of ten security comments, sample a few and compare each comment with the final code and its tests. A reply can raise the count while the fix is still waiting. The examples tell you whether the review is helping the team catch problems it cares about.
