A chance to check the plan first
Google’s October 19 announcement adds a staged way to create Slide Decks and Video Overviews in Gemini Notebook, a tool that works from material you supply. The date is visible; its exact publication hour is not established.
Notebook suggests topics, then lets you guide the content and visual direction. An optional Review toggle adds a checkpoint where you can inspect the proposed outline or producer notes and request changes before generating the finished work. Quick generation remains available.
The availability wording needs care
The announcement says these capabilities are rolling out globally to all Gemini Notebook users over the coming week. However, Google’s current video help page restricts video co-creation to Google AI Ultra subscribers.
That restriction sits under co-creation, separate from ordinary video generation and the later Cinematic age limit. We cannot resolve the mismatch or confirm individual account access. The help page also says producer notes cannot be refined further after you choose Proceed.
Our take
R2’s editorial analysis: checking an outline before rendering is a useful place to catch a missing topic or unsupported claim. Keep your original sources beside you and give the complete plan a careful read.
Review the finished deck or video too. A better plan does not guarantee accurate narration, images, or conclusions. Check the feature available in your account before planning work around it.
