What changed
Anthropic’s October 23 announcement makes unified chat and Cowork generally available for Claude Enterprise on web, desktop, and mobile. A conversation can start with a question and continue into cloud work on files or code. This extends an experience introduced for Pro and Max in September.
Cloud work runs in Anthropic-managed sessions. Pricing remains usage-based, and the company cautions that a delegated project may consume more tokens than a quick exchange.
Check the November 16 choice
According to the admin guide, existing organizations that leave the setting unchanged get automatic enablement on November 16, 2026 if Chat and Cloud code execution and file creation are both on. Owners can enable early or select Keep disabled. An explicit earlier on-or-off choice persists. If either required capability is off, nothing turns on; if no explicit rollout choice was saved, enabling both after November 16 activates the experience.
Efficient mode limits this unified experience to Sonnet and Haiku. Model allowlists and organization, group, and member spend limits still apply. Organizations using zero data retention, the HIPAA-ready configuration, or customer-managed encryption keys cannot currently enable it.
Our take
For workplace users and experienced technicians, start with a small pilot and review role assignments before widening access. Pick a representative job, agree on the expected deliverable, and have someone review it before relying on it. Check its usage against the budget.
A smoother handoff can make a substantial assignment feel as casual as a short question. Match the allowed workload to the budget, and record the organization’s rollout decision while the choice is visible.
We have not enabled an organization or measured usage. The announcement is dated October 23; its exact posting hour was not established.
