What AWS lists
AWS lists October 30 for the end of support for the old Agent Registry bedrock-agentcore preview namespace, pointing users to agent-registry. [2]
Check the migration scope
The migration guide dates the new namespace’s launch to August 6. Users must initiate data migration and update configuration and incompatible API schemas. Registry data is copied into the same account and region. This affects Registry; AgentCore Identity, Gateway, Runtime, and Policy remain unchanged, and identity/OAuth resources retain their existing namespace. Verify registry and record counts, transformed descriptors, and application reads/writes. AWS warns that shutdown removes read/write access and access to remaining old-namespace data. No cutoff hour or timezone is stated. [1]
Our take
For experienced technicians, inventory registry clients and data together. Review migration tooling and preserve a recoverable export before changing production references. Check the new discovery results and permissions with a narrow workflow. We reviewed documentation without accessing a registry or running a migration.
